In my art project, I wish to apply Pablo Picasso's cubism style - deformed characteristics consisting of flat, abstracted geometric patterns and constrained space. I might not be very good at it, but I'll give it my best go. I'd want to make more mask-like faces. Aside from that, I have an idea to have the viewer concentrate more on the forms. My design will be more formal, austere, and frigid.

LECTURE
This chapter defines visual analysis as a knowledge of a design that is focused on the unique characteristics and principles of a particular design. The goal is to acknowledge the decisions made by the designer(s) when creating such designs. The capacity to notice and comprehend the formal characteristics of design that convey ideas, context, or meaning can also be advantageous.
Phase 1: Observation
Observation is performed by carefully inspecting design inspirations and noting the visual elements contained in them. There was no need for more inquiry, and we are only pointing out what may be understood by a self-made explanation.
Phase 2: Analysis
The analysis has been completed with a more extensive breakdown and development of our observations. We may characterize the effect of the elements in the design using the same visual features that we have discovered. Explanations of the required design concepts retrieved can also be supplemented at this stage, although not with more research.
Phase 2: Interpretation
This is a more in-depth step since all of our earlier observations, descriptions, and analyses were then backed up with more research to combine them with factual solutions. This might be about the designer's history and background. The purpose and objective of the design are two examples of criteria we might use during the interpretation phase.
INSTRUCTIONS
We were all given two weeks to complete this project (Final Project), which required us to comprehend visual analysis. In general, the assignment requires us to evaluate, examine, document, and analyze design material, which might include billboards, television commercials, movie clips, or works of art, among other mediums. We should be able to identify the specifics of these occurrences, such as their size and placement, purpose, efficacy, and design principles, as a consequence of our study and observations. This allows us to acquire inspiration while also observing and extracting information that we can subsequently use to our design in order to put our design principles knowledge into effect.
Mr. Charles gave some examples of how to proceed with Project 3 during the session by showing us movies on allusion and symbolism that he had prepared. This helped us get a better understanding of allusions and symbolism in literature. Not only that, but he also displayed some of a well-known designer's artwork. H.R Giger is a well-known artist and sculptor recognized for his alien-themed artwork and sculptures.
VISUAL ANALYSIS
OBSERVATION
[The Weeping Woman, 1937 by Pablo Picasso][Pablo Picasso’s “Femme au Béret et à la Robe Quadrillée (Marie-Thérèse Walter)” from 1937]
In March 1932, the painting Girl Before Mirror was created by Pablo Picasso. based on my research, Picasso utilized a technique based on the centuries/according to the eras. He was also inspired by an image of vanity similar to those seen in past eras of art, yet Picasso moves the emphasis and provides a radically different interpretation of the picture. The piece is analyzed in terms of the sexual in Picasso's art, and critics from various times have given their opinions on it, demonstrating a broad spectrum of views.
This painting also made me feel overwhelmed. Picasso has a distinct painting style that is easily distinguished from other works. His paintings are a mixture of forms, textures, and colors. It caused my mind to experience a variety of emotions in response to the visual at the same time. During the 1930s, Picasso painted his mistress Marie Therese Walter several times. Picasso created "Girl Before a Mirror" during his cubism phase. Picasso was a daring artist who used a lot of color in his work. Even with backdrops that are often used as a backdrop and primarily to support the main topic.
When I look at the artwork attentively, I saw numerous distinct symbols in various places of the painting. For example, the woman's face is depicted in both a side profile and a full-frontal shot. One side depicts her throughout the day, when she is dressed up and her make-up is applied. The uneven charcoal texture on the other side depicts her at night. When she removes her cosmetic mask, she becomes more vulnerable as a young girl. When the lady looks in the mirror, she sees herself as an elderly woman.
Although the attention is on the girl staring in the mirror and her reflection, the background plays an equally vital role in highlighting the pattern. The backdrop diamonds holding the circles draw attention to the circles that represent the girl's breasts and tummy. There are a variety of possible interpretations for the image such as The girl is staring in the mirror since she is pregnant, and she sees uneven breasts and a large tummy in the reflection. The girl looking into the mirror has an angelic face full of light, but her reflection in the mirror is dark, giving this young woman a sense of being flawed or like I mentioned earlier, the girl staring in the mirror may be assessing her own self-worth.
Picasso intended to demonstrate that perception alters everything, therefore her figure is not only a piece of beauty in the picture. Warm and cold tones are also applied to depict the transition that the woman undergoes as she looks in the mirror. The viewer perceives two distinct persons, one on the outside and one is the one reflected. However, the reflection is a distorted image of the girl. She reaches out to embrace the reflection, as though she is embracing yet another aspect of herself that she sees in the mirror.
IDEA EXPLORATION
PROGRESS
After going through some inspiration and ideas from Picasso's art, I've come up with a rough sketched.
I have drawn an illustration of a face. The way how I portray the face was inspired by Picasso. I added few other elements like the phone that connected to a brain machine.
FINAL DESIGN OUTCOME
Tittle: What a brain drainer
rationale:
This illustration is to show a persistent internet connectivity is a distinguishing feature of many people's lives nowadays. I made is based on my observation of my daily life. in my opinion, people's behavior has been influenced by technology at all hours of the day. Many individuals check their phones first thing in the morning, use them while driving to work, and keep an eye on them at work. The last thing many people see before falling asleep is their phone screen. People seldom take a step back to assess the effects on their bodies and brains since these habits have become so engrained in their daily routines.
To differentiates and learn, we must break down this design into its essential elements in order to compare it to Picasso's creation. Picasso was free to express himself via painting and sculpture. He depicts all facets of life, both light and dark, as well as its sufferings, joys, and pleasures. This is why he motivates others. My design, on the other hand, is more fluid and dependent on what's on my mind or anything relevant to real life and events. I believe there are few points of view that are same between the two of us. In this design, I worked on asymmetrical balance and harmony. Colors, shapes, sizes, and patterns are used to connect all of the elements to create a unified whole.
REFLECTION
One of the most exciting aspects of this assignment for me was studying one of the great artists, which I decided to be Pablo Picasso. I was able to understand Picasso's approach and apply it to my design. This is definitely knowledge worth keeping, and it has helped me enhance a wide range of design talents in particular. This project was pretty difficult since it was more open-ended, allowing you to design depending on your inspiration from other artists. Overall, under the direction of my professor, Mr. Charles, everything went smoothly.
